Why This Site Exists
Most jail and inmate information in Illinois is public. The hard part is knowing where it lives. A fresh arrest sits with the county sheriff. A sentenced prisoner moves into the state system. A federal case lands somewhere else again. Each one has its own search tool, its own phone line, and its own set of rules.
The Iroquois County Sheriff's Office runs the local jail. That facility holds people before trial and those serving short county sentences. Sentenced state prisoners are tracked by the Illinois Department of Corrections through a separate locator. Federal and immigration detainees appear in the federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE systems instead. Working out which one applies can eat up an afternoon. We pull the rosters, locators, contacts, visitation notes, and records-request steps for the county into one spot, so you can head straight to the right channel.

What We Cannot Do
It helps to be honest about the limits. This is a privately run reference site. We have no tie to the Iroquois County Sheriff's Office, the county jail, the Illinois Department of Corrections, or any other government agency in Illinois or anywhere else.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
- We cannot post bond, set up a visit, or send money on your behalf.
- We cannot give legal advice.
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address stays current.
Only the sheriff's office or the corrections department can confirm where a person is held, what they are charged with, or when they may be released. We can point you to the right roster or locator, but the official answer always comes from them.
Search Partners
Some pages carry search boxes run by outside providers. Those companies set their own prices and return their own results. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee. That fee is what keeps the pages free to read. We do not control what those partners charge or what their searches turn up.
